Lifestyle Waste Generation And It’s Management
Abstract
For an accurate decision making in the management of urban or rural wastes. The objectives of this
study is to characterize the generation of waste and identify the problems arise from improper waste
management to public health. This study also verifies the relationship of lifestyle and livelihood that
influence the amount of waste generated. . The explanatory variables show the lifestyle factors,
particularly the activity of resident, contribute significantly to variations in the generation of
residential waste in study area. As for the waste with nuisance such as broken facilities. garbage and
overflow of waste have the probability of being exposed to harmful vector borne disease due to the
presence of habitats for vectors such as rodent, flies, cockroaches and mosquitos. As the study
revealed awareness of waste disposal is an urgent need to rectify thus gap in knowledge and practice.
