Rural Sustainable Development & MNREGA ( A case study of Lauriya Block of West champaran District)

Abstract

Rural sustainable development is a challenging issue in India.Our rural population is facing unemployment, illiteracy problems and vicious circle of poverty from a long period of time.There is excessive exploitation of  natural resources and the problems of deforestation and environmental degradation are also on the peak .In these worse situations MNREGA is playing a pivotal and remedial role in the rural sustainable development .It not only generate employment but also create a social rural assets and focus on invironment protection through the plantation.
